Art Anthology, Basically Bare, and May Arts

Hello and welcome to the Art Anthology, Basically Bare AND May Arts Ribbonista's Hop!!!

Let me just say that I am not a "mixed media" person exactly but I wanted to challenge myself. I was excited that this would allow me to play with some goodies that many of my crafty friends love! I had a great time!

Here is my finished project. It's a DT journal so that I can put 6x6 sheets of paper in it and remember a: what my projects are and when they are do and b: what my ideas on them were and inspiration! With two tiny humans, yes I need this!

I used an Um Wow Studio Star Confetti Stencil and the Art Anthology dimensional crystals to create this fun effect! The outlines of the stars were actually caused by my not cleaning the stencil and just moving it down and retaping it... I didn't put anything in that star space but I had before I moved it so it had some left over paint. I love it!

Leaf ribbon: love. Don't forget to cut it off it's string for this fun effect and texture!

Last tip: I covered the sun with some chevron ribbon. :) I ran it through my Xyron 5" sticker maker with permanent adhesive to make this a snap. Then I covered it with the ribbon and cut around the rays. For the center parts, I tucked them in back and adhered them with tape.

I hope you enjoyed my first real mixed media piece! I know it's not uber professional but I love it and will enjoy using it for my assignments. LUCKILY for YOU the REAL mixed media MASTER is my hopping partner today! Check out DeeDee Catron's project!

  3. The DT book is a great idea. I teach classes but only keep the card unless I've printed out directions from a website or magazine when I want to replicate the design I'm don't always remember which punch I used or how I got to the finish project. Very frustrating. Have to start one of these.
