Thankful for You

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today I am thankful for my momma.

I bet you are LOVING seeing a new collection on the blog! We are loving it too! This collection is.. random.. It has everything from board games to zoo themes to crayons. It’s called Family Fun and is aptly named!

The “b” sides of these papers are awesome. It’s a FULL rainbow. I should have taken a picture. Every color except for pink was represented. Nice. So if some of the front patterns are too busy for you (as they are for me) then flip them over and have a ball! I used the d-stress to add a little distressing here and there. :)

Fall is just starting here and I am loving the fall leaf spirit!

My mom has been helping out a ton while my husband has been working like crazy - for like 6 months - so I just wanted to make her a card to say thank you.

The leaves were darling but I wanted to add a little umph. The buttons and enamel dots were JUST the thing to help! The buttons are super fun because each color comes in a big and a small button. love it. And the small size on the enamel dots is super small which is awesome for card makers! They could easily be used for dots of an “i” etc. :) Grab them! Fun colors!

I had some fun with the dimension on this card. Lots of foam adhesive was used.

I hope you enjoyed my fall card today and it inspires you to pick up some Imaginisce goodies and create a card for someone you love!

Supply List:
Imaginisce: Patterned Papers (Family Fun)
Imaginisce: Buttons (Family Fun)

Zebra Card with Family Fun

Okay, so isn't this zebra kind of darling? This card was made with Imaginisce's new Family Fun collection. LOVIN' these "b" sides.

I wanted the adorable zebra die cut to take center stage.

I stitched around the outside of the circle for some anchoring. It may be some of my best stitching to date! Be impressed. ;)

I used three buttons and really kept going back and forth on whether or not to put twine in them. I am glad I didn't.

You can barely see it but the red layer is actually tone on tone stripes. I think it actually focuses your eye without you actually knowing it.

Here it is form the side. Not too much dimension for me. Only the zebra is popped up.

I grabbed the tiny sentiment from My Creative Time.

Thanks for continuing to stop by and leave me messages! It is taking a LONG time for me to get my feet under me again as a mommy of two. I wont go on a rant, but let's just say this and last year have been incredibly challenging.. and I hate cancer. Anyway, thanks for sticking with me! BIG hugs!

Smarty pants owl popcorn bag

Hi Imaginisce lovers!!! I am here with a fall themed card project for you. Who doesn’t love owls? I saw this one and couldn’t help myself - he is cu-whooooo-te! :)

The popcorn bag was a fun touch… my only regret was not popping popcorn for this picture! I love popcorn. I had just eaten lunch when I took this photo and wasn’t hungry and couldn’t bear the thought of throwing it away. Okay, I may have a hoarding problem! haha.

Don’t you just want to hug that owl? Okay, maybe that’s just me. :)

Thanks for hanging out with me! I hope you have a whoooterific day!

My Craft Spot Guest Design Spot

HELLOOOOOO out there!!!! I am guest designing for My Craft Spot stamps today!

My Craft Spot

I am writing you from Sweden and I just saw my first moose!!!!!!! Here we are. I know, you are SO glad I showed you these. :)

We have all had a crazy summer, but before I left for Europe with two small children for a month (yes, I am crazy. They are 6 months and just 2.... we are surviving so far!) - I made this card for you using the CLOCK TIME stamp set.

Things I love about this stamp set:
1. The Sentiments.
They. Are. Awesome. I LOVE how My Craft Spot actually took into account sentiments that you would actually SEND to someone - not just things that are funny or would look cute with die cuts - but things that you want to say to people or will help them during different times of life. This card has an intended recipient that I cannot wait to give it to!

2. The Clocks.
There is a clock for every kind of person. Old fashioned, roman numerals, etc etc.
3. The parts of the clocks are off and there are different arms for different uses and styles. Love it.

As you can see, I cut this little alarm clock and just forwent the cutting of the clock face in lieu of the stamp. I actually used 4 of the stamps on this little card!

I added some stickles for sparkle including the center of the clock.

I used some Imaginisce papers from the Welcome Spring line to cheer it up and the raffia is actually upcycled! We got a lovely gift from friends for Emmaline's 2nd birthday party and this was part of the wrapping. :)

Thank you SO much for having me guest design with these fabulous stamps! I had a great time and the quality is fantastic. If you were wondering how you can use this stamp set then I hope I have provided a little inspiration for you and you will pick it up post-haste! :)

Apple Shaped Card

Hi Imaginisce lovers!!! I'm here with a fall themed card project for you. Who doesn’t need thank you cards? I send a bunch out at once and then I am aways out it seems!

I downloaded this super simple apple card cut file and went to work!

The twine was an afterthought so I pulled back the bottom stem of the apple afterwards and added it. Don’t be afraid to close one eye and pull the other side up slowly while you fix your mistake - praying the whole time that you don’t ruin your project. :) That’s what I do! :)

The sentiment is actually a sticker and I popped the apple. I liked the dimension of the whole thing.

Thanks for hanging out with me! I hope you have a red delicious day!

May Arts New Release Ribbon Blog Hop

Court from Court’s Crafts here! I received this awesome silk ribbon! It’s so soft and .. well.. silky! :) It’s quite flat - there is virtually no thickness which is awesome for cards!

For my first card I used loops to emphasize my sentiment and distract from the busy background.

My second card was actually where my inspiration came from. I wanted to weave the silk ribbon. As the ribbon is a 1” width, I wove it on a 4” x 4” piece of card stock. Then I had to find a way to get the sentiment on the background without covering up the weaving. I achieved this by using the loopy method. :)

My last project is a quick tag. I wanted to tie a bow with this gorgeous ribbon and the way the folds worked on the top of the tag - ugh. lovely. I have always said that May Arts Ribbon is the BEST for tying bows and this ribbon is no different. Luscious.

Here is the line- up for the week!!!!

Pencil Holder From Imaginisce

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a fabulous summer! Mine is FLYING by! I am up on the Imaginisce blog today to give you some pencil no.2 inspiration!
Pencils are always on the school supply list and while pencil tins are darling, wouldn’t this be fun to look in a cubby or locker at? School colors can be used to add some extra umph, but Emmaline loves pink, blue, purple, and stars so this is right up her ally!

Imaginisce’s Little Princess line is perfect for many more things than scrapbooking! I have really enjoyed putting the light blue and light green polka dotted paper on boys’ cards - but I digress… I LOVE the star paper in this collection - so fun! It’s one of those things that I would wall paper with.. no seriously… Okay, okay. I may have “star” issues.
I used a cut file by Jamie Lane Designs for this and it originally came with apples as well as stars to decorate the pencils as a teacher’s gift. Dual usage? Yes, please. I grabbed some new May Arts Ribbon that is a string of gold stars and used two glue dots to add them to the back of the pencils. I thought it gave them a little extra depth.
I added a little velvet ribbon to one of the pencils because I have bow issues - I love them.
The project is incredibly sturdy and has great depth while not taking up a large foot print.
I hope this inspires you to go create something fun for your kids’ going back to school! :)

Imaginisce - Memorial Day Theme

*This was up on the Imaginisce blog a little while ago but I didn't want to post it as my friend hadn't gotten her cards yet! Silly mail! :)

I know - I know… This doesn’t appear like a Memorial Day inspired set of cards - but it is!

My best friend Kourtni (yes, my best friend and I share the same name) is a doctor in the Air Force and is a single mom. She is about to be deployed again but this time she cannot take her kids with her. In the spirit of Operation Write Home, I made these two cards for her to send home to her kids (boy;4 and a girl; 2). I’ll be sending them in a care package for her.

The Little Princess line isn’t just for little girls - it makes darling boys cards too! :) Don’t be afraid to think outside the box with your patterned papers.

I loved this little pop of pink for both hearts in the love you bubbles.

I am loving the card stock neutrals from American Crafts. I used them for all the solid colors - and those mists - so fun!

I hope you enjoyed my post for today and please remember that some of these soldiers have kids at home and the next time you participate in Operation Write Home, think about what they would want to receive. :)
