Doodlebug Doilies!

Hello everyone in the doodlebug world! I have MISSED YOU!!! :) I got to guest post a couple of days ago (THANKS DOODLEBUG!) using their awesome doilies!

I wanted to get a LOT of doilies on this card and really make it the focal point. I grabbed one of every color in the rainbow and cut them in half (eek! Why is cutting them in half so hard to do!?!) Then I started layering them from outside in. I knew I wanted to "right justify" my focal point and I love this color purple. This card fits into a legal sized envelope. It's long and fantastic - perfect for a 3 year old's birthday party that I have coming up. Legal sized cards also allow you to put checks in without having to fold them and you can even use photo corners to hold them in place. Super cute.

I grabbed some happy birthday stickers (these are pre-done by doodlebug. You can check them out here. They make my life so. much. easier.) I also grabbed the icon stickers from the Springtime Line and went to work on my little scene. I added a lilac mini doily to the center of the other purple one to pull in the focus just a little bit more.

Lastly I put a fancy frill underneath and popped the base layer.

Thank you SO much for checking out my card today and don't forget to link up to the doily party here so you can win an obscene amount of doilies for yourself!

Echo Park Jack and Jill: JACK!

Hello! I made a card for my husband! I call him “handsome” (his name is Hans) so this is kind of perfect. The “Ha” looks like a symbol that could be his name shortened as well. :) Thanks Echo Park! :)

Cut 4 “play”s out of the “Navy/Teal” paper.

Adhere them to an “Airplane” 3.5 x 3.5” card base using foam adhesive squares.

Cut a 3 5/8 x 3 5/8” piece of “Pool” paper and a 4 x 4” of “Plaid” paper. Adhere the “Pool” paper to the back of the play card base.

Cut out the top left hand corner of the “Cars” paper and trim it leaving the bottom left hand piece so you can adhere the next cut. Cut out the top left hand corner that says “handsome” of the “Character” paper and adhere it to the side of the piece you just cut out.

If the instructions above were too confusing, here is what it looks like from the back.

Die cut an arrow from the Navy/Teal paper. Add 3 enamel dots and use a white gel pen to add little dots to each side. Adhere arrow using foam dimensional adhesive.

Poke a hole and add your brad. Adhere all layers together.

See?! Man cards aren’t nearly so bad if you have some Jack and Jill: Jack on hand! :)

Beach Party Hello

Hello everyone! Courtney Lee here with a little hello card using Beach Party.

Here is something I love to do - add a real element to my project. I picked this up from a beach nearby - real sand! I just added liquid adhesive to the bottom of the sticker and dropped a whole pile on and left it for an hour or so. Doesn’t it add so much?!

I used the Circles 4 x 6 Stamp to put a tone on tone background onto the card. I loved the yellow background but it just needed a little something and this was just perfect! I used yellow ink to create this subtle effect.

I hope you grab some Beach Party to make your days a little sunnier!

Supplies:
Die Cut Machine
Googly Eyes
Tape Runner
Foam Adhesive
Liquid Glue
Sand
Adhesive Dots
Scissors

Zebra Birthday Wishes Card

Hello out there in bloggy world! Courtney Lee here with a tutorial using the Birthday Wishes girl line and some of the super fun new designer products that Echo Park has put out with these lines! My daughter’s little friend is turning two so I thought this would be a great opportunity to make her a special card.

I die cut the Zebra with my Silhouette and sized it for a 4.25” x 4.25” card. Tip: I put all the white parts on top and all the black parts on the bottom for faster loading and cutting.

I ran the white base of the zebra through my embossing machine using one of the new embossing folders! How excited are you that they are now making embossing folders? I hope you are excited as I am. :)

I used my tweezers to put the little pieces of the zebra on. I added a googly eye instead of the one that came with the cut file because I love them.

Next I used the balloon stencil and some embossing paste and put it over the 6” x 6” piece of patterned paper. Let it dry for an hour or so. Tip: Make sure to hold down your stencil using washi tape so that it doesn’t move while you are applying the embossing paste.

Cut a piece of the yellow polka dot paper to 4” x 4”. Cut a piece of green paper to 4 1/8” x 4 1/8”. Cut a piece of pink paper to 3 5/8” x 3 5/8”. Die Cut a Birthday Girl phrase from green paper.

Adhere all layers together and attach the zebra using foam adhesive. I wanted to give you a close up of the cool balloon background and the embossing. It just adds a lot compared to flat backgrounds!

Thank you so much for joining me today! Grab some Birthday Wishes and make some cards. Having birthday cards around is always handy!

Supplies:
