Doodlebug Collectible Pin Display

Hello doodlebug lovers!!!! Have you seen their ADORABLE collectible pins!?!? We cannot get enough of them on the DT and have been showcasing how to show them off, add them to gifts and so much more! Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's ideas! They have been brilliant and sooooooo inspiring!

Here is mine and it was inspired by the doodlebug rainbow. Is there anything more scrumptious than a rainbow of color inspiration!?

I have ribbon problems (as you will see next week... shhh... you may or not be seeing my craft room....) and I just knew I wanted to showcase my fabulous pins off by putting them on a rainbow!

So I went to work sewing the ribbons side by side using some fun threads and decorative stitches. I LOVE the result. Then I trimmed top and bottom and sewed the ends down for a clean edge.

Now I went out and grabbed some white birch sticks from the tree in my yard (it was time to prune anyway, right?!) and put those on top and bottom. I sewed a wide loop on top and a tighter loop on bottom. I attached a ribbon to both ends to hang it and then just put all my pins in their "proper" color spots or a spot which had some of that color on it.

It was actually a very simple project once I decided on it and it looks fabulous on my craft room wall... now the only problem is my girls want it in their room. No way babes! ;)

I hope this gives you some inspiration today and that you go make something beautiful to display your doodlebug enamel pins on!!! ;)

March Social Calendar

Hello daily doodles lovers!!! Are you just LOVING this inspiration!?!

Courtney from Court's Crafts here with a classic approach to using the calendar. My thought was that if I could record all the fun things and people that visited and really just events that effect the girls - that I would put them in an album and they would remember all the really fun and cool things we did!

March - what a fun month. I had to get my favorite umbrella on there as well as the cutest little blue bird. The scalloping below is layering of the "This and That" borders and the sticker came from the new Mini Icons sheet!

I use critters and doodle-pops to highlight the big events. Isn't that flower stunning!?

I use washi tape (HOW CUTE ARE THOSE BABY BUGS!!!?) and more of the mini icon critters to highlight events. I like writing around them. I think it gives the calendar a really fun element. That sparkle rainbow is really old but.... you may see something like it showing up in the next release.... shhh.... ;)

Blue bird.. I could write a song to these blue bird sprinkles. They are so darling. I like to put a little scene in the bottom right of my calendar. Usually they are more elaborate but this calendar was so busy (as we are in March!!!) that I kept it simple.

I love the depth the doodle-pops bring to the calendar. Isn't that sparkly rainbow scrumptious!?

I make little slits and add the cute clips. They are my favorite new embellishment. I add them to everything and run out of them first!

I am happy to say I have been doing these social calendars for about a year and a half now and everyone really enjoys them! They are on display for the month in my family command center while the month is going on and then they are moved to the album and the next one goes up. April's feature's Easter Express! :) Do you have a family calendar? We would love to see your daily doodles!

Bunny Favor Box with Lori Whitlock

Hello everyone! Usually I feel SOOO behind leading up to holidays but this cute Easter Bunny Favor Box 2 was too cute to not make! It's Courtney Lee from Court's Crafts here with a little bit of darlingness to spruce up your Easter baskets, classroom treats, or neighbor gifts this year! These would also be ADORABLE party favors for a bunny themed party!
The tutorial today is how to import into Cricut Design Space. There is a little trick and if you were like me and were really confused why the little black score and cut lines weren't on the object they were supposed to be on - this tutorial is for you!
Alright! Now, one tip I have to say when putting this box together is to score all the lines first on a scoring board. That helps a ton. And don't stress about the "v" parts. They close in beautifully when you pretend to close the box. I adhered my box closed with some sticky backed velcro that I picked up at the fabric store a while ago.
One other tip is the bunny head. You can only attach the bunny's head BELOW the double dotted line on the flap. That way the flap can actually bend and close... ask me how I know.... ;) See that spot where I had to rip off my adhesive!? ;)
Lastly, start with the head and work down as it lines up with the curvature of the top. I started with the body and realized my head wasn't high enough. :)
That's it for me today! I used Lori Whitlock's Celebrate Easter Collection for Echo Park for this card. Isn't it fun!?!!!

Spring Things Cut Files!

Laptop Makeover: Hello Beautiful!

My laptop needed a little love - and a way to tell it apart from my husband's. ;) Courtney Lee from Court's Crafts here and Doodlebug to my rescue!

I wanted the writing to face the person looking at it. I thought that if I were in a public place and someone looked at this and it made them feel beautiful or good for a moment, wouldn't that be something? Without saying a word we could make someone's day a little brighter.

I was in LOVE with these fonts. Did you know that the owner Cynthea wrote the "hello"!?!?! Incredible! The heart was an afterthought that I just loved. My 4 year old chose the yellow and I love it.

Anyone who knows me well knows that I LOVE the rain. So this little storm cloud with happy rainbow drops just had my name all over it (which is why I used it in the card below twice too!!!). We have been in a severe drought for almost a decade and have just gotten so much rain. I am loving every second. In fact, it's raining as I write this.
I am TOTALLY in love with my new laptop look and BONUS: since my cloud is made from Dry Erase Vinyl I can write any super important notes or reminders on my cloud! :)

Sunshine Shaped Card

I haaaad to use this amazing umbrella. My first design had the umbrella right side up. Then we were listening to Winnie the Pooh on tape (inspiration comes from the craziest places sometimes!) and Pooh and Christopher Robin ride in an umbrella as a boat to go save Piglet. I thought - wouldn't it be cute to have the little critters inside riding in the umbrella!? :)

Isn't it the tweetest (sorry I couldn't resist) thing to have the little blue bird friends whispering in their ears?! I used Glossy Accents on the rain drops and top and bottom of umbrella. In person they look so wonderfully wet!

I attached my sentiment to the inside and it shows through perfectly when the card is closed. A little "sunshine peeking through" as it were. :)

Wouldn't you want to be huddled in that umbrella with them as well? :)

What would you make with our cut files!? :) I would love to hear!
