Rockin' New Year Hop - Celebrate in Style

Welcome to the final day of the Rockin' New Year Blog Hop! I hope you have some wonderful things planned for this evening! My husband and I will be staying in and watching an action flick and a chick flick and we order in pizza! We'll probably just let the movies run in the background while we play dominoes! I am really looking forward to it!

I hope you got here from Celeste's blog! If not, start at the beginning HERE at Carol's blog

Thanks SO much to Jenny for coordinating this hop! These ladies are so talented!

Recipe:
White and pink plain card stock: Paper Trey Ink
Pink gems (on party hat): i-rock Swirls Stencil™
Stamp: Hero Arts™
Ink: Studio G™
Straw: from a delivery restaurant! :)

I actually didn't cut anything with my Cricut on this one. The party hat is a scalloped bordered piece of card stock that came like that. I loved it and instantly thought, "party hat!". I embellished it with a brad and gem stones. I inked around the edges and popped it on the card.

I used a tutorial to make a party blower and thought it would be fun to attach it to the front of the card.

Lastly, I scored two lines on the pink paper for just a little touch of extra and skewed them in different directions! I hope you like it! :)

Now head on over to the ever so talented and sweet: Dorcas' blog!

Remember to leave a comment on yesterday and today's post to win the cartridge! I will draw a winner on Monday to give people a chance over the weekend to comment. Make sure to come back and see if you were the winner!

2011 Imaginisce Design Team Member!

Hello everyone!!! I am absolutely thrilled and honored to have been selected as part of the 2011 Imaginisce Design Team

I have been on cloud 9 and just couldn't wait to tell you all!

I always consider these kind of successes to be about all of us - as I say - my grandmother was my first "follower" so for those that encouraged me from the beginning, share in the joy!

I couldn't decide what to put up here as my first project so I just decided to show you what I created for my DT submission.

Design Notes:
If you look through the sparkle on the tree - the white parts - you can see the snowflakes underneath. This is a lot more apparent in person, but was hard to photograph. It was my favorite part of the layout! :)

Recipe:
Cartridge: Christmas Noel Solutions™, Cake Basics™ (scalloped circle)
i-rock and lots of Hot Rocks (from the) Compact™ - I admit it... I'm blinging everything!
Stencil for the flourishes: i-rock Swirls Stencil™
Sentiment stamp: MME Holly Jolly™
Embossing powder: a la Mode™
Sparkle: Pixie sparkle - for the red parts: on top of Studio G red glitter glue
Vinyl photo corners from EAD Designs™

**********************

Next up we were asked to create a card... Of course I chose a shaped card:

Design Notes: I got the jingle bell from Michael's and you may or may not notice that I embossed the green background. I used clear embossing powder to create the shine on the red part of the flower.

Recipe:
Embossing powder: a la Mode™
Twine:  PaperTreyInk™

*********************

Lastly, we were asked to create something of our choice. My mom really liked my Autumn banner and requested that I make one for her that said, "thankful". This is now inside of her house.
Recipe:
Imaginisce Apple Cider Collection™
Cartridge: Designer's Calendar™ and  Cake Basics™
Embossing: D'vine Swirls™ and Victoria

A few close-ups. Sorry the colors aren't quite right. It was raining this day too!

I hope you enjoyed this post and have a very Merry Christmas! I am really looking forward to joining in such talent and learning a lot from these really talented ladies!

Hello everyone!!!

I am SO super excited about things coming up but I can't tell you about them just yet... but I will be able to soon and I think you will be excited too!

I am sure you have seen my new blog background and I now have a blinkie! It's over there ------->. Please let me know if you put it on your blog. I would love to come see it and say hello! It was all done by the fabulous (and incredibly prompt) Yvonne! Thank you!

Don't forget there is a blog hop coming up on December 30th and 31st - the Rockin' New Year hop! Of course there will be giveaways!

Everything you see is from Pumpkin Spice except for the ribbons - which were off our wedding presents two years ago!

Recipe:
Cartridge: Winter Woodland
My Mind's Eye: Holly Jolly "Winter Branches", "Jolly Old St. Nick" (reverse side), "Deck the Halls" (all the scalloped circles)

Here are some close-ups:

She has the whole set of papers + accessory sheet HERE for $6.29! I love this paper and there is still so much left! Pop on over as she has extended the free priority shipping over $50! Use the coupon code "ShippedBySanta". She also has all of the My Pink Stamper stamps which is how I found her in the first place! Love them!

I hope everyone is getting everything done! I still have a few gifts to wrap! Eek! I better get off the computer and get to it! Hugs to all!

Wrap It Up Christmas Cottage Shape Card

I haven't done a shape card in a while and I was missing it!

There is a shape card feature already built into this cartridge, but I wanted to do mine slightly differently as I wanted all of the layers. So I did do this on my Gypsy, but you could get virtually the same effect by cutting the layers multiple times out of different papers.

Anyway, here it is!

Recipe:
Cartridge: Wrap it Up
Paper: Pink and White stripes: Echo Park Paper: Be Mine™, (Teal) Core'dinations Nostalgia™, Brown: Echo Park Paper: Merry Christmas™, (White) Paper Trey Ink
Embossing: D'vine Swirl Emboss Folder
Pearls: Hero Arts self adhesive pearls™
Sickles: Waterfall™ from Artful Delight's November Kit
Glossy Accents
White Embossing Powder: A la Mode (I did not heat emboss it though - just attached it to the Glossy Accents

I made this for multiple challenges:
My Pink Stamper: Use two pinks, two blues, and black (I used a dark brown instead, but technically there is black ink inside for the sentiment!)
EAD Designs color challenge: White, teal, hot pink, and chocolate brown

I had a great time making this and I hope you have enjoyed it too! :)

Unfortunately, the December kits are sold out!!! But the add on is still available and you can win one over at Frosted Designs if you link up to the sketch by December 27th!

Final Be Inspired Wednesday for Passionately Artistic

This post marks the end of my design team term for Passionately Artistic (formerly the Cuttlebug Challenges). I have thoroughly enjoyed myself and am ready to move on to other projects. A huge thanks go Betty Bee who brought me onto the team and Maggie! Both of you taught me so much!

This week at Passionately Artistic we are giving you New Year's Celebration ideas!

I chose to decorate a champagne bottle and I like the idea of going out with champagne! :)

There is a lot going on with this Champagne bottle and I am going to write the tutorial... This is your final warning. :)

Recipe:
Card Stock: Cricut Consumables
Cartridges: Tie the Knot™, Wild Card™
Embossing: Love is in the Air set™, D'vine Swirls™, Swiss Dots™
i-rock and hot rocks from Imaginisce™
Stickles are "Waterfall" from Artful Delight's November Kit (one left!)
Glossy Accents
Ribbon from my Stash
Ink: Studio G™
White Gelly Roll Gel Pen™
Crop-a-dile™
Adhesive: ATG

Instructions

Card:
I followed the instructions from Wild Card™ and cut all of the normal layers. *NOTE* The booklet is wrong. When you cut out the card base, it comes out backwards... so you have to flip all of the features to get them to fit properly. *End note*

I embossed the background with D'vine Swirls™ and the "cork" with Swiss Dots™.

I used Glossy Accents on the word "Cheers" as well as the black on the bottle. Unfortunately I had to take the picture when I could so there is still a little bit of "milky blue" that hadn't dried yet. But you still get the point I think. :) I also added the Stickles to the bottle to match the champagne glasses.

I used my Crop-a-dile to punch a hole in the top and tie ribbon through to adhere it to the bottle. Now you have a thank you card attached to the bottle for the host/hostess! :)

Bottle:
I cut a piece of hot pink paper and ran it through the Cuttlebug™ using the Love is in the Air set™.

Next I adhered that to the bottle using my ATG.

I cut out all parts of the champagne glasses (shadow, blackout, base, layers) from the Tie the Knot Cartridge™.

Next I glued them all together and added the Stickles. While that was drying, I used my i-rock (LOVE IT) to add bling to the bubbles. :) Lastly, I used glossy accents around the edges of the glass to give it some shine and did some white gel pen doodling.

I hope you enjoy this idea for what you can bring to a New Year's party! If you don't drink, remember you can always attach it to a sparkling Martinelli's Apple Cider bottle or Pellegrino! :)

Now hop on over to the Passionately Artistic blog and see what the other ladies have made to inspire you!

I've been trying not to make this blog too personal (isn't that somewhat-silly?), but my grandfather was just admitted to the hospital and I have been down in Monterey helping out the family. I had pre-posted a bunch of projects to keep you all entertained, but they are starting to run out! haha. So I just wanted to give you a heads up as to why I might not be getting back to all of your blogs from the hop or visiting you, or super active. Please don't think it's because I don't love you all!

Thank you SO much to my followers - it's definitely providing an escape for me when I need it. I get your encouraging comments in my email and they are brightening my days!

Day 6 - Christmas Tags!

Good Afternoon! I hope you enjoyed this morning's post on tags over at Passionately Artistic! This is day 6 and I am the afternoon Tags post! :) This is my last post for the 12 days of Christmas series, but continue to head on over there for inspiration!

My goal with this tutorial was to show a variety. A lot of times, I see something that I wanted to create, but I don't have the cartridge or the resources.

Different Cartridges
Tie the Knot, Winter Woodland, Storybook, Gypsy Wanderings
Using your Gypsy
I will show you how to make something truly unique with your Gypsy.
No Cricut, No Cuttlebug, No Gypsy - just Scissors!
Lastly, I will show you some tags that I did without any Gypsy, Cuttlebug, OR Cricut so that there should be inspiration here for anyone! :)

Recipe:
Cartridge: Tie the Knot™

rest - 2.5"

This last Cricut tag was two images welded together. I liked the holes it created in the middle. I cut the flourish again to place it on top. I used my i-rock to add bling and I heat embossed the "To" and "From" with gold embossing powder.

No Cricut, No Gypsy, No Cuttlebug - just manufacturer love. :)

Sometimes we get so caught up in what a tag could look like on our layouts or cards that we just forget to use them as... well... tags.

I LOVE Echo Park Paper™ and the Merry Christmas line is fabulous. I just took these stickers, stuck them to card stock, cut it out, punched a hole on the the top, i-rocked some bling and tied a ribbon. Done. I am going to stamp a "To, From" onto the back. Easy Peasy.
Recipe:
Echo Park Paper Merry Christmas line Stickers™

Gold bows were recycled off the top of a smoked almond package! (yay for up-cylcing!)

For this next one, I just took the My Mind's Eye: I Believe Chipboard and popped it out of it's little home. I added some green ribbon and - my favorite part - since it already has an adhesive back, it will stick right onto your gift! Done! AND it already is glittered - love that.
 Recipe: My Mind's Eye: I Believe Chipboard™

Next up we have the EAD Design Stickers. I had a bunch of fun with these. I stuck them to white card stock, cut them out, punched a hole in the top, added Stickles, and tied some twine at the top.

The best part about EAD Designs is that this sticker set comes with cute little "To: From:" stickers as well. I put these on the back, but forgot to take a picture! So you'll have to go check out their website to see how cute the font is because I love it!

Recipe: EAD Design Christmas Tags™
Stickles in Waterfall™ - the manufacturer pic looks like it is purple, but trust me, it's blue.
Stickles in Christmas Red

I hope this inspires you to make your own Christmas tags this year!

Don't forget to leave me a comment and become a follower if you're inspired! :)
