Crate Paper Thank You's Take 2!

This is my Shop Pumpkin Spice blog post for today! :)

Well, I really liked the layout of the cards that I did HERE and I needed more thank you notes, so I just copied them. I find that sometimes we over-think and want to create a whole new design. But sometimes it's enough to just tweak one you have already made!

Emmaline's Rocking Horse

This is another project that I did pre-baby for post-baby scheduling. :)

Here is a new picture of miss Emmaline! I have been on bed rest for over a week now (torture for a busy body like me!) and I cannot wait to do everything for myself again. I am a terrible patient! I also cannot wait to get into my craft room! But I love every minute with this little girl so much. I seriously just stare at her for half hours at a time. She was just in my belly!!!

She just got changed. Happy baby! She loves to be clean!

Her first Janie and Jack outfit! (I LOVE Janie and Jack!!!) The large bump on her head is a cephalhematoma. It should be gone in 2-12 weeks but you can see it in some of the pictures. Poor thing. It's seriously the size of a baseball but I keep trying to take pics from the other side! haha.

Sleepy smile!

The background 12x12 burlap frame is from Canvas Corp. I wanted to make something with it as soon as they sent it to me and I have been hoarding it for MONTHS in order to make this clean and simple wall hanging. I hope you like it!

Hmm.. This pic makes it look like the little thing underneath doesn't match the curve of the horse, but I fixed it after this photo was taken. The mini spools are from Jillibean Soup.

I'll have to show pictures of the baby room soon! :)

Crate Paper Color Challenge

Hello everyone! :)

Thank you SO much for all of the super sweet comments about Emmaline. We adore her. She is SUCH a good baby. She is sleeping next to me at the moment so I thought I would sneak in this post as I made this before she was born for the Crate Color Challenge

Now, these colors looked really pretty in the inspiration photo below, but I admit, they were a challenge for me to put all on a card. I really like how it turned out and I really LOVE being challenged - win-win.

Sorry the lighting is so harsh. I had my husband take the pic and I keep forgetting at good times of day, so here it is! I did not have that third color anywhere in my stash so I tried to get as close to it as possible.

I made this for our friends who just found out that they are having a boy!

Emmaline is here!

Just a quick post today to share with you all that Emmaline appeared at 6:34am yesterday morning.

We did a home birth so we are at home. She was 8lbs 2oz and 21 inches long. We could not be more in love.

Thank you for all of your words of encouragement and prayers and thoughts and advice! I'll be back on soon! :)

Here is the most recent picture.

Core Cards Creative Frenzy

Whew! This post is going to be picture heavy! Hold onto your hats! This is for the Core'dinations card-makers DT call. Check it out HERE. You have until August 10th to get your projects posted. :)

**Edit: So I knew I had gotten inspiration from someone out there in  scrappy land, but couldn't remember who and it popped up on the Core blog today! I had seen the rainbow tag idea from Rebecca Keppel on her layout! I just forgot to pin it! I also cased my own thank you cards that you can see HERE. So it came from two places! :) **

Rainbow Tag Thank You

1. Here's what I love about the new 4.25x5.5" stacks.... I know there are other paper hoarders like me. I HATE using my pretty Core as a card base, but I want it on the front of my card. So use an ordinary white card base (and that way it is white inside to write on as well) and then add a black piece of Core that is already PERFECTLY cut for you to the front!

2. In this case, I am scoring and sanding it before I put it on the front of my card. Love it.

3. Next I pulled out my Twinery Twine. We glean inspiration from everywhere. You can find a piece of Core to match ANY color in your stash. So I started with the twine and then matched my Core to the Twinery twine. **I know, my twine is a mess!**

4. Between the Core Essentials Super "Elements" Assortment (one of my favorites!) and the Core Essentials "Darks", I had all 5 colors. :) I went for a darker color blue so I could use my scraps. Next I cut stars to match the colors in various sizes.

5. Place the stars where you think you want them and then adhere them down. I used foam tape on a few of them and just put others flat. Then take the tags and layer them adhering the top portion of the tag to the bottom of the tag above it. Do not place adhesive where the twine is going to go. I chose to do this part after the above steps. You can always do it first if you would like.

6. Stamp your sentiment and doodle around the edges. Add twine. Then put foam dimensional tape on the back side of the whole tag ensemble.

7. Adhere it to your pre-cut 4.25x5.5" scored "mat". Adhere the whole thing to your card base. Voila! Enjoy!
