It's a Date Night

This card is going to be an invitation to my husband to go on a date night. We have date night every Wednesday night so it's nothing new, but I think it would be fun to send him an invitation that he gets at work for the date night one time.  :) So this idea was born! I tried to make it somewhat masculine but while keeping the date night idea - so the two person bike seemed appropriate. I hope you like it!

I LOVE this stamp set. I helped Robyn come up with this idea of having a stamp set that did all invitations so I am thrilled to see one of my stamping dreams come to life! Thanks Robyn for creating it! :) Check it out HERE. There are SO many different invitation options on it!

This card was based off this sketch from Artful Delight. Leeanne had 14 sketches for 14 days and if you participate you can win this month's kit! How fun is that! So play along and you can get up to 14 chances to win but they have to be linked by the 23rd.

Have a great week everyone!

Pure Joy

Good Monday morning to all of you! You might have gotten here from Betty Bee's Buzz or you may have gotten here from Artful Delight! Either way, welcome!

This week I am doing the tutorial on Betty Bee's Buzz! And in honor or her new grandbaby Paisley being born, we are having a baby week. So play along in the baby challenge and you never know what could be up for grabs! :)

This card was inspired by my good friend June Houck! I was on the phone with her brainstorming and she brought up "onesie" which produced my a-ha moment!

OUT FOR PUBLICATION!!!! :)
Instructions:

(If you have a Gypsy, weld the two together at the top and ignore step 1)
  1. Using Wall Decor and More™ cut two onesies out at 4" out of Butter cardstock.
  2. Next cut one onesie with the swirl detail out of Summer Fun at 4". Adhere to card base.
  3. Ink around edges of card.
  4. Stamp Pure Joy and the little foot from My Pink Stamper's Sweet Baby™ set in Momento ink.
  5. Cut 2 one inch butterflies from Cake Basics™ (or any butterfly blackout or shadow cut - or punch for that matter!).
  6. Add white stones using your i-rock™ to the center of the butterflies.
  7. Ink edges.
  8. Bend edges up around the i-rock™ stones making the wings upright.
  9. Adhere one of the butterflies to the mini clothespin and the other one to the onesie.
  10. Take two buttons and use twine to thread through the holes from the back and tie a bow in the front. Trim extra length off.
  11. Using Glue Arts Extreme Adhesive Squares™, attach one to each button back and adhere to card.
  12. Send the card to a friend!

Now pop on over to Betty Bee's Buzz to join in all of the fun of the challenge and pop over to Artful Delight to pick up this month's kit while you still can! They usually sell out quickly and I am SO excited about the kits coming up! They are going to be fabulous!

Now, my one year blog-aversary was last month and I totally missed it, so I am going to be having a blog-aversary party very soon! Stay tuned as I am ordering things to give out as prizes and I think everyone will be excited! :)

Artful Delight November Sketch, kit, and first DT post!

YAY for November - time to start getting ready for Thanksgiving and Christmas and hot chocolate and apple cider. The weather has only recently turned chilly here in San Francisco and I am thrilled to start baking and roasting more.

You see, when you live in a 450 Sq. Ft. place, and you roast something on a hot day - it turns out you are roasting yourselves! So on cold days I like to bake or roast as an eco-friendly way to heat up the house and get us fed! :)

Anywho, I did this LO right after we got back from London and Paris, so that romantic trip was on my mind. Here is what I did with one such memory:

This is my first post as a member of the Artful Delight Design Team and I am SO excited to show you this AWESOME kit that Leeanne and senior DT member Jamie have put together!

Let's see... how many lay-outs have you seen me do.... EEK! I was so nervous about this, but I am pretty happy with the way it turned out! Thanks to fellow DT member Debbie who created the sketch! Good goin', girl!

I moved the elements around, but they are all in there. :)

Here is the Sketch:

Here is my take on it:

Recipe:
Cricut Cartridge: Storybook™ (background for picture and swirly thing at the bottom)
Everything else came from the November Kit

My opinion on the kit:
Okay, seriously... who includes both Stickles and Tattered Angels as bonus items in a kit?!? I just LOVE that. She hit all the major elements.

I couldn't believe how much stuff just kept coming out of my box. It was really incredible. I have supplies for months!

These patterns are sweet and whimsical and incredibly romantic. I loved them.

The flocked transparencies are SO cool. I will be using them very soon... In fact... one of them made it onto my spiderweb card I did a few days ago... :)

There are rub-ons, thickers, alpha sets, stickers, glittered transparencies, prima flowers, ribbon, twine, chipboard, and so so much more. I was in embellishment overload and therefore embellishment heaven!

One disclaimer: She meant to throw in some solids, but filled the spot with embellishments. Next month you can guess there will be solids. :)

I have never seen a kit like this and am SO thrilled to be on the DT sharing such a great product that Leeanne has put together.

Here is a small picture of November's kit and what is included (the pic doesn't do it justice!):

Pumpkin Spice is my sponsor and a giveaway!

I am SO excited to finally announce that Pumpkin Spice is sponsoring my blog!!! This is the company that I was telling you about during the hop where I bought My Pink Stamper stamps from.

I put the same My Pink Stamper stamps in my cart for 5 companies. Hallmark Scrapbook and Custom Crops were two of the bigger ones and they charged about $6 and $8 for shipping respectively.

I chose Pumpkin Spice because of two reasons:

  1. The shipping price was $2.78 (I think or it was $2.87)
  2. I called customer service because I needed them pronto to use for my projects and for the give away. I got a call back within 15 minutes! And she went to the post office and shipped them within an hour!

THAT is amazing and I told her so. Now here we are - a friendship has been born and now a sponsorship!

Today I have a card for you that is for my grandfather's birthday. So Grammy, if you're reading this, don't show it to him! :)

Denine at Pumpkin Spice was SO generous and I am pleased to open this with the Union Square line from My Mind's Eye. While I doubt it's the same one they named the line after, we have a Union Square here in San Francisco and I just LOVED the red glitter paper. I thought it is so versatile from men's cards (like this one) to girls night out cards, polka dots, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and even Halloween -- of course it's a shoe in for Valentine's day as well but that's a little bit far away.

Recipe:
From the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Union Square™ Line:
Union Square "Favorite" Decorative Brads™
Union Square "Home Sweet Home" Glittered Accessories Sheet™
Union Square "Perfect" Stamps™
Union Square "Favorite" Trims™ - the "ribbon" is linen! I love it!
Union Square "Favorite" Union Station Paper™
Union Square "Favorite" Birds of a Feather Paper™
Cosmo Cricket Nutmeg Collection - Acorn Paper™
Embossing: A2 Seeing Spots Emboss Folder™
Glossy Accents (on the crown)
Red Stickles by Studio G (on the crown)
Pop Dots
Corner Rounder

Denine (owner of Pumpkin Spice) has also generously put this all in a Court's Crafts Collection Kit! So you can everything you need to make it here! How cool is that!

And if that wasn't great enough, she sent me some goodies to send to you! Leave a comment on this post telling me how many items for sale there are under the section listed "Blackbird" under "My Mind's Eye - Halloween Collections and what your favorite paper is from there. I will randomly choose a winner on Friday to win the Cosmo Cricket Matilda mini deck sponsored by Pumpkin Spice

You will have until Thursday at midnight PST to leave a comment. Winner will have 48 hours to contact me because I am leaving for Europe! So become a follower if you don't want to miss it and if you like my work!
