My Designer Challenge - Pumpkins - For My Creative Time!

WOO HOOOOOO!!! I am taking over the My Creative Time blog today to share with you my Designer Challenge! I am excited to tell you that the challenge is PUMPKIN!

If you know our crafty leader at all you know that she is slightly obsessed with Pumpkin Spice Lattes. I share that obsession of all things pumpkin so I thought this would be fun! Feel free to get as creative as you want! Make a label for pumpkin bread, a card with a pumpkin on it, give someone a random act of kindness gift certificate to Starbucks so they can get their own Pumpkin Spice Latte - the sky is the limit!

Here is my inspiration for you! I knew I would need a thank you for an upcoming Halloween party. :)

Xyron and Core'dinations!?! Oh yeah!

Hello and welcome to the Xyron and Core'dinations Blog Hop!

I love Core. It matches EVERYTHING AND you can sand it, tear it, emboss it, love it!

Core was so generous to us and gave us all some fabulous product! I got to play with the Vintage 6x6 pad and the Pastel Collection!

First up is my fun little Halloween card. I don't know what I was thinking with this funky vellum cover, but I love it!!

Second up is my tutorial for today and a card I was putting off making for quite some time. A friend lost their baby girl at 20 weeks - found out there was no heartbeat. Having had 3 miscarriages before Emmaline and being 20 weeks pregnant with our little girl this week - words cannot describe my sorrow for them. However, I have absolute hope and faith that this terrible heartbreak is just a puddle in their path and that they will hold a baby in their arms. They will meet their little girl someday and for now, she is being taken care of by the greatest parent of all in Heaven.

AND check out the Ain't She Crafty blog for details about giveaways!!! Last week they gave away something every day!!!

Core Cards Creative Frenzy

Whew! This post is going to be picture heavy! Hold onto your hats! This is for the Core'dinations card-makers DT call. Check it out HERE. You have until August 10th to get your projects posted. :)

**Edit: So I knew I had gotten inspiration from someone out there in  scrappy land, but couldn't remember who and it popped up on the Core blog today! I had seen the rainbow tag idea from Rebecca Keppel on her layout! I just forgot to pin it! I also cased my own thank you cards that you can see HERE. So it came from two places! :) **

Rainbow Tag Thank You

1. Here's what I love about the new 4.25x5.5" stacks.... I know there are other paper hoarders like me. I HATE using my pretty Core as a card base, but I want it on the front of my card. So use an ordinary white card base (and that way it is white inside to write on as well) and then add a black piece of Core that is already PERFECTLY cut for you to the front!

2. In this case, I am scoring and sanding it before I put it on the front of my card. Love it.

3. Next I pulled out my Twinery Twine. We glean inspiration from everywhere. You can find a piece of Core to match ANY color in your stash. So I started with the twine and then matched my Core to the Twinery twine. **I know, my twine is a mess!**

4. Between the Core Essentials Super "Elements" Assortment (one of my favorites!) and the Core Essentials "Darks", I had all 5 colors. :) I went for a darker color blue so I could use my scraps. Next I cut stars to match the colors in various sizes.

5. Place the stars where you think you want them and then adhere them down. I used foam tape on a few of them and just put others flat. Then take the tags and layer them adhering the top portion of the tag to the bottom of the tag above it. Do not place adhesive where the twine is going to go. I chose to do this part after the above steps. You can always do it first if you would like.

6. Stamp your sentiment and doodle around the edges. Add twine. Then put foam dimensional tape on the back side of the whole tag ensemble.

7. Adhere it to your pre-cut 4.25x5.5" scored "mat". Adhere the whole thing to your card base. Voila! Enjoy!

Today is my due date! Unfortunately no baby has arrived but we are so looking forward to meeting her!

I made this for Northridge Publishing's Style Challenge for the January 2013 magazine. We'll see if it gets picked up! :) You had to use the three colors shown plus a tag.

Hello! I was SO excited to hear about the Core challenges that were going on during CHA. I was super sad to miss CHA this year, but with a baby due any day I couldn't go. So I was just hoping that she would hold on to let me participate in a few of these and I guess she agreed! :)

Core Challenge #7 - Sprout Thank You

Core'dinations Challenge #7 - Andrea's Die Cut Challenge

So I registered at a store called Sprout in San Francisco for our baby stuff. They were SO helpful and SO accommodating. They got to know me as "Courtney from Carmel" and I just couldn't say enough about this small business. They are all natural and all organic and care SO much about the products that they put in their store. I love them. Anyway, I thought I would send them a thank you note for all of their help and answering my endless questions.

I used their logo below to create a card for them. I hope they like it!

Core Challenges #1 - Hexagons, Whales, and Colors, oh my!

Okay, so when I started this challenge I felt super inspired. When I finished this challenge, I felt super defeated. I pulled this card apart like 4 times trying to get it right, but I'm not super duper pleased with it. I LOVE what Lydia did with the challenge. Hmm. Oh well. It's still okay. :)

Happy Birthday and Circle Weekly Challenge

Make sure you checked to see if you were one of my winners from the 7 days of giveaways! :)

Using the sketch below, I whipped this card out in a half an hour in order to send it to my grandmother and hope that it got there on time for her birthday!

Recipe:

I made this using the weekly sketch challenge from the Circle Blog:

I realized that I don't share a lot of pics of my life on here, so here are some recent ones! :)

We went to the Scottish Festival and put my dad in the stocks. Then they poured water on his head! He was such a good sport.

Spoon. Snuggling. So cute.

Birthday Fun - Shaped Card!

Hello and welcome to my Shop Pumpkin Spice post for today!

I hope you enjoy this shaped card. I created it on Cricut Craft Room and boy was that a learning curve! My Gypsy died when I did the last update and I've been super sad about that, so I am trying to learn CCR. Wish me luck! (I miss my Gypsy!)

You're a Great Catch - Father's Day Card

I made this for the Imaginisce June Challenge. It is a sketch challenge using over 75% Imaginisce as well.

I made this for my Father-in-Law who I call my co-dad. He's fantastic and he'll be fly-fishing in Idaho during Father's Day so he is receiving this WAY early! For me, he was a great catch of a father-in-law. He is wise, patient, kind, and caring. I got super lucky.
