Quick Thank You Notes

I have been needing a lot of thank you notes recently and with my daughter's 2nd birthday on Saturday, I knew I needed a quick design to whip up some more.

Here I let the patterned paper do the work!

Hope you are having a great summer! Mine is going by WAY too fast! My little one is 5 months old!!! What in the world!?! And how did Emmaline turn 2?!? Heavens to Betsy (how do you spell that and were did the phrase come from?!) haha. Have a great day!

May Arts + Simple Stories + Xyron = A Match Made in Heaven

Hello and welcome to the blog hop with the May Arts Ribbonistas!

We swapped with Xyron and Simple Stories for a super fun trio!

Simple Stories let us choose a collection kit so I chose the Story of Us. I loved the black white and gold and thought some pink and tiffany blue ribbon would soften it up!

There are actually 4 kinds of May Arts Ribbon on this card. I got this close up so that you could see the shimmer ribbon on the left. It's beautiful! Of course the chevron is a favorite of mine and the silk ribbon is brand new!

The scalloped tab was an afterthought and I am so glad I slipped it behind the ribbon!

This wired ribbon is super fun, but to be honest - I had NO idea how to adhere it! So I grabbed my Xyron/Teresa Collins Stapler and stapled it down. Totally cheating. Love it!

Now check out what my DT mates have created!

Make sure to go to the May Arts Ribbon blog to see how you can WIN prize packs that include:
1. A Good Day Sunshine kit from Simple Stories
2. A 2.5" Create a Sticker from Xyron
3. A spool of ribbon your choice!

Patriotic Parade 4th of July Banner

HAPPY 4th of July!!!!

I made this 4th of July banner for the girls' bedroom door. Emmaline "helped" cut most of the pieces out on my die cutting machine and she loves this banner! She is very proud of it being on her door.

These star brads are SOOOO cute!! I love love love them. What a perfect accent to the middle of the pinwheel! I am going to try layered pinwheels soon! The doodle-pop pinwheels were the start of my inspiration for this project.

Ahhh - doodle-pops... how I love thee. Emmaline loves airplanes right now and points them out every chance she gets. She insisted that this airplane went on the banner. I was thinking about it and wavering and I am so glad she was insistent as it's so darling! I added that gorgeous star jewel for a little bling. :)

Do you ever start to design, hesitate, and question yourself whether or not something is "too much"? I spent WAY too much time staring at this. These are two stickers layered on top of each other. I am SO glad I did it! I think it's kind of fabulous. When in doubt - remember that they are only stickers and they might as well be used! :) I added a little Fancy Frill to the top as well. :)

Oh look! Another DARLING doodle-pop!

All of the letters on my banner came from the icons for Patriotic Parade. They were probably "designed" for a title of a scrapbook page, but I love them on a banner! The oversized letters are perfect for just that. :)

A little extra bling was needed... enter fabby sequins

Did anyone spy the doilies from the valentine's day collection: sweetheart?!? Why yes, they do match. :)

doodlebug - Goody bags for Emmaline's Party

Hello everyone! Here I am with a little party inspiration! :)

Emmaline LOVES to garden so for her 2nd birthday party favors (TOMORROW!!! eek!!!) we thought it would be fun to incorporate that love and give out seeds instead of the normal favors. I chose carrots because some of the people coming do not have garden space or live in the city. Carrots are something that anyone can grow in a pot on the patio and they come up quickly and are fun to pick at all kinds of stages of growth.

I kept these simple because I wanted to be able to make a bunch of them super quickly. Doodlebug made this super easy!

Isn't this color combo scrumptious!?! It makes me want to be a kid again and to have some otter pops by the pool!

I am LOVING this coral color. I am kind of obsessed with the coral and swimming pool combination but I tried the coral and limeade... ugh. new love.

Juicy. Don't you just love those mini doodle-pops? They dress up everything so quickly! I have such a hard time using those little gems (because I have hoarding problems), but when I do, I love it!

You have to have some cuteness for the guys too. :)

Here are a couple of close-ups. :)

When you put the seed packets in - it's a tight fit. They may crinkle just a smidgen, but they fit perfectly! Aren't they cute!?! I cannot wait to make more and let the kiddos pick out their favorites before they leave from the party.

Next time you need a sweet party favor for a kids' birthday party or garden party, here is a darling idea! I hope it inspires you!

Enjoy our couple weeks of treat bag inspiration! Courtney Lee signing out! Have a beautiful day!
