Congratulations to the Perfect Couple

Hello and welcome to my Shop Pumpkin Spice post for today.

I am away at a wedding that I am the matron of honor of!!! Congratulations Michelle and Bryan! They got married yesterday!

This week's theme is sunshine at Shop Pumpkin Spice. I planned this - this is not cheating - although I feel like it IS sneaky. I used My Mind's Eye: Good Day SUNSHINE papers for this whole card! It was quite a challenge to turn it into a wedding card, but I did it! :)

Shop Pumpkin Spice - feel better Grampy

My grandfather has been in the hospital for a few weeks and just made it into rehab and yesterday got to come home! He is doing very well! I wanted to make a card for him which will be going off in the mail today - sometimes it's nice when you feel like people are still thinking about you after you get home. :)

I wanted to use Christmas papers for a non-Christmas card and I still LOVE this My Mind's Eye 6x6 Pad: Winter Wonderland. They had me at polka dots, tiny snowmen, and enchanting houses.

I made this for 5 - yes - 5 challenges!

May Arts Finalist Post and Projects!

Hellooooooooo bloggy world!

I have been working on these projects for the May Arts Finals to get onto their DT! If you feel like it, pop over and see all of the finalists' projects! They should be posted in the next few days. DT members are announced July 29th.

First up is the dress. I was looking forward to making this pleated dress and having the PERFECT 3/8" ribbon for it was just the excuse I needed to unpack the sewing machine! (p.s. I promise those buttons are on straight on the back! This picture is driving me crazy!) There are little bows on the pockets and in the middle of the front. They are a little hard to see them in the picture, but you can see them in the video below! :)

May Arts Ribbon Used: BH09

The second project I made was a bow to match the dress. I LOVE mixing classic patterns so the stripes were clearly calling to go with the polka dots. The dress is not on Emmaline in the pictures below because she was swimming in it! It's a 3T so she will need to grow into it.

May Arts Ribbon Used: BH09, 365-2-03, and 376-1-01

Here is the last project that I made: A card to go with the bow for someone's birthday! Wouldn't it make a cute gift to give a card that uses the same ribbon as the bow!? I like it.

My Little Bicycle, May Arts, AND Xyron?!? It's a match made in Heaven.

I had SUCH a great time designing with these FABULOUS products from May Arts, Little Yellow Bicycle, and of course Xyron. Thank you so much for sending them our way!

All three blogs have giveaways going so that you can also design with this fabby product - that is a LOT of chances to win. Click on the links to the blogs at the bottom of this post to go check it out! :)

Posy
Instructions for Posy card:
1. Cut an A2 card base
2. Cut a 4"x5.25" white layer.
3. Using your Mega Runner and the .5" wide adhesive, run a strip of adhesive down either side of the back of your layer.
4. Using the clear acetate that the burlap stickers come on, arrange the stickers how you want them to go on the acetate. Place over layer.
5. Using the acetate with the stickers as a template, slide the ribbon underneath the acetate layer and adhere to the back of the card on the adhesive. This will ensure proper placement so you can just lay the stickers down later. Repeat for all three ribbons.
6. Remove stickers from acetate and place down on the ribbon layers just how you liked it. :)
7. Add foam dimensional adhesive that you made with the 9" Creative Station to the back of the layer. You will be able to cut it into long thin strips so the layer is stable. Add a few small pieces in the middle  to make sure it stays up properly and doesn't sink in the middle.
8. Add Little Yellow Bicycle sticker to the front.

 Hello Doggy!
Tips and tricks:
1. Play with the bow a lot that goes around the neck of the dog. May Arts Ribbon is FANTASTIC for tying bows. You want a tiny bow with he snake tongue edges so that it gives it character.
2. The burlap tree with the buttons gives this card both dimension and texture. Ideal.
3. There was a different little sign that said "Pooch" where the "Hello" is. I simply replaced the die cut with that sticker and it gave it both color and more character.
4. I debated cutting the decorative printed edge that is on the yellow layer. I decided to leave it on for extra pizzaz. In retrospect, the card is a little "right side heavy" and while I originally wanted the decorative edge to "open up" into the card, I think I would have placed it on the left side for balance.
5. I used this ribbon to kind of look like a road on the bottom. Just a thought! :)
6. Run all of your little pieces through the 9" Creative Station so that when you go to put it together, it makes it a breeze!

St. Patrick's Day Headband

Today is another My Creative Time 3-D Wednesday!!!

If you were wondering if you could use her dies to cut through more than paper, then the answer is YES! I used her die to cut through the naturals from Little Yellow Bicycle. It doesn't make it all the way clean through, but it gets far enough that you can basically break it off. I used a pair of scissors to make it cleaner.

A Basket Full of Love Just for You

Hello and welcome to my My Creative Time post for today! :)

Cathryn was in charge of this challenge and chose to pick something for spring. I can do that! :) If you think you can too, then head on over to My Creative Time and link up! :)

Designer's notes:
I cut the circle and then hand cut the handle off of it. In this picture the bottom piece is my "basket" and the top piece is my handle. The middle was used for stamping practice! :)

I wrapped the twine around the center of the handle at the top so it looked more like a "basket". For some reason it looks off centered in the pic above, but I promise it's centered! :) See below!

Here is a dark picture, but shows how well the stamp stamped on the material.

Recipe:
My Creative Time: To My Best Peep™ (bunny die and sentiment)
My Creative Time: Hello Spring™ (egg layering die and daisy stamp)
Xyron 9" Creative Station (to make the egg sticky in order to put glitter on it)
Promarker: Yellow
i-rock and glam rocks in pearl by Imaginisce™
Little Yellow Bicycle: Naturals: Burlap Shapes™
Little Yellow Bicycle: "JB-277" (stick pin)
Little Yellow Bicycle: "JB-279" chipboard shapes (heart, bird, Polaroid)
Little Yellow Bicycle: "JB-106" (bunny patterned paper)
Little Yellow Bicycle: "JB-107" (black background)

I also made this for the Naturals competition for Little Yellow Bicycle!

Nancy's Designer Challenge for My Creative Time!

Hello!!! My card today was made during a 30 minute challenge from my husband. I needed to get this card done and Hans wanted to go to sleep so he gave me a half an hour. I ended up taking 40 minutes, but that is still great for me! :) I love how it turned out. Sometimes being under pressure is the BEST!

I grabbed my My Creative Time Stamps and Dies and my Xyron tape runner and some new goodness from Little Yellow Bicycle - their Just Because line and went to work!

Nancy's Designer Challenge over at My Creative Time was to use a memento and incorporate it into your project. My husband and I LOVE the two Sherlock Holmes movies and put them on in the background frequently. This card is an invitation to a movie date night.... and a few kisses.... :)

As my husband asked afterwards, "That is awesome. How did you cut the tickets to look so perfectly like tickets?"
Answer: "I DIDN'T! Emma did!!!". Yep, that's a die cut and a bunch of interchangeable ticket stamps. LOVE.

Sorry for the bad pic... it was a little bit late at night! :)

Inside of card: As you can see, the Xyron tape runner adhesive didn't show through the vellum! LOVE! And it's always nice to have double sided patterned paper so that you get a different and coordinating design on the inside. BONUS! :)

And just because.... she is already 6 months!!! What in the world happened to the time!?!
