Train Banner for Malakai using Echo Park's Little Boy line!

I won the Little Boy Line from a contest that Echo Park Paper was having on their Facebook page. (You should go over there. They are always giving things away!) I was THRILLED because we are extremely proud Godparents to one little one year old named Malakai. Isn't he precious? I know I am biased, but seriously... 

So I wanted to make him something for his room to put on the wall above his crib. This Little Boy Collection was PERFECT! 

This picture was taken on his first birthday in October. He received a wooden train and really liked it, so that became my inspiration piece. 

I thought, why can't a banner be a train? 

Recipe: 

Paper: Echo Park Little Boy Line™

Gypsy™

Cricut Cartridges: Everyday Paper Dolls™, Cake Basics™ (letters) 

Cuttlebug Embossing Folders: Swiss Dots™, Seeing Spots™, Argyle™, and OMC Exclusive Checkerboard™

Buttons, Twine, Stickles in "Waterfall" and "Christmas Red"™

Glossy Accents™

Crop-a-dile™

Adhesive: Glue Arts™

Instructions:

I used my Gypsy to make the cars with the yellow stripes show some of their holes and others with no holes. *Note* You can do the rest of this without the Gypsy - You will just have holes in the cars for all of your trains.

Cut out all desired letters and their shadows using the Cake Basics™ font. 

Glue font to font shadow and apply Glossy Accents to the front of the font. Let sit overnight. *Note* This can be done last if you would like to let the whole thing sit overnight. That is what I usually do, but for this I did it ahead of time.

Cut out all cars  from solid colors (shadows) at 3.75 inches - flipping the engine and the caboose so that the train is going left to right. This is only because there is not shadow feature on the Everyday Paper Dolls Train.

Cut out all cars again from Echo Park Paper at 3.5" - Again, remember to flip the engine and caboose.

Run desired layers through the Cuttlebug using desired embossing folders. 

Next adhere the fronts of the cars to their shadow layers using your Glue Glider Pro.

Using foam dimensionals, adhere letters to their corresponding train cars. 

Add buttons as the wheels.

Punch holes through the edges using your Crop-a-dile™ and add the eyelets. 

String the twine through the holes and cut extra pieces of twine to tie on as bows in between the letters. 

Lastly, apply Stickles to the desired areas of the train - I chose a few stars on the front and the light blue stripes on the caboose. 

Give it to a little person that you love dearly!

Design Notes:

This was my first time working with liquid applique. I had a great time! Per the directions, I let it dry overnight and then heated it with a heat embossing gun. I just love the result! I wish I would have done this on all of my Christmas cards for snow, but I think it looks great as frosting too! :)

Design notes: I just had to use Robyn's favorite cartridge: Create a Critter, but I absolutely love making shape cards so I thought I would make a shape card for the blog hop.

I used the Twinery twine around the flowers and used Glossy Accents on the grass and the flower petals.

It's my best friend Kourtni's birthday tomorrow (HAPPY BIRTHDAY - and yes, we share the same name) and this was her birthday card! So she just received this in the mail. I love you friend!

Since it is Kourtni's birthday, I think I should have a giveaway. As I just got her one of these for her birthday, I will give one away to you as well! All the cake cartridges work all of the Cricuts and I use this font the most and the images are fabulous too!

Another card made with Artful Delight's January Kit! 

I used the thickers as the centerpiece for this one and paired it with some of the epoxy heart buttons (love those!) 

The only thing that wasn't from the January Kit was the twine from the Twinery and the white card stock.

So... will you be mine? :)

Faux Embossing - Thinking of You

I did a spin-off of faux embossing using the technique, but not how it is classically used. I hope you enjoy it!

When I submitted my DT application, I said that I wanted to be on the Imaginisce Design Team because, "I would like to be part of the Imaginisce team because I think Imaginisce is as on par with innovation as Provo Craft. Now that I have been on the team for a few weeks, I can tell you that it's because of the AMAZING ladies that serve, help each other, encourage each other, and inspire each other as well as our fearless Queen Lori!

Design Notes: 

If you look through the sparkle on the tree - the white parts - you can see the snowflakes underneath. This is a lot more apparent in person, but was hard to photograph. It was my favorite part of the layout! :)
