Hello My Friend

This is another card I made with the January Kit from Artful Delight!

Recipe:
Artful Delight January Kit
Striped twine from the Twinery™
Solid twine from Paper Trey Ink™
Sentiment: Unity Stamp Itty Bitty "Hello My Fiend"
Stickles in Christmas Red from Artful Delight's December Kit (currently sold out)
White Embossing Powder from A la Mode
Heat Emossing Gun: Coloriser by EK Success
Liquid Applique from Artful Delight's Website (currently sold out)
Adhesive: Glue Arts™

Design Notes:
This was my first time working with liquid applique. I had a great time! Per the directions, I let it dry overnight and then heated it with a heat embossing gun. I just love the result! I wish I would have done this on all of my Christmas cards for snow, but I think it looks great as frosting too! :)

Unfortunately the January Kit is already sold out, but you can get ahead of the game and sign up for February's as it is going to be awesome!

Digital Delights Nutcracker!

If you haven't yet entered my giveaway, click HERE to take you to the post! :)

So, I am FINALLY participating in a Digital Delights Challenge - my good friends Wanda and Betty are Design Team members over there and my support has been grossly overdue! :) BUT I hope I will be making up for it by participating in both their glitter challenge and their SNR challenge!

This adorable nutcracker is available for FREE today and tomorrow. If you upload a card by tomorrow for the challenge using the nutcracker than you get the sugar plum fairy (adorable - and I have to admit -it's most of the reason I chose this one. She is SO cute!) for free! THEN if you win, you get $10. I can't even keep it all straight! What a great thing! :)

I have just gotten my i-rock from Imaginisce and I have to warn you - you may start blinging things inappropriately. I can't stop! :)

Recipe:
Cartridge: Wild Card Cartridge™ (I used my Gypsy™ to add the hole in the center to use acetate as the middle layer)
Paper: Imaginisce Cottage Chistmas Collection™
Digi-stamp: Digital Delights by Louby Loo™! :)
Sentiment and snowflakes: Winter Punnies™ my My Pink Stamper
Embossing powder: a la Mode™
Heat gun: EK Success™
Adhesive: Martha Stewart Gel Adhesive™
Red glitter: Studio G™
Bling: i-rock and gems by Imaginisce™

This also qualifies for Cricut Cardz Challenge #50 - Use a card function to create a Christmas Card.

Be Inspired Wednesday - Embossing powders

Scroll down for my Betty Bee's Buzz post and a giveaway! :)

This week at Passionately Artistic we were instructed to use embossing powders as a resist or to distress. I decided to use them to resist.

I have never done this technique before and really enjoyed it!

Recipe:
Embossing Powder: Filigree Gold purchased from Paper Trey Ink™, a la Mode in white™
Paper: Paper Trey Ink White™, Ripe Avocado™
Ribbon: Paper Trey Ink Satin Dark Chocolate™
Hero Arts gem stones
Sentiment: Hero Arts™
Ink: Momento in brown and Color Box in Olive
Stamps: My Mind's Eye: I believe Stamps™

Instructions:

  1. This card is a typical 4.25"x"5.5".
  2. I heat embossed the gold leaves and sentiment using Filigree Gold embossing powder.
  3. Then I used a piece of paper towel to rub on the olive ink and worked it towards the center.
  4. Heat emboss the white wreath stamp onto the Ripe Avocado™ card stock.
  5. Use a piece of paper towel to rub the Momento ink onto the edges of the free hand cut paper.
  6. Place piece of Paper Trey Ink Dark Chocolate Satin ribbon around the card. Adhere.
  7. Use a foam dimensional to pop the wreath cut.
  8. Make a bow from the Dark Chocolate satin ribbon. Adhere.
  9. Place Hero Arts self-adhesive gems™ where some of the berries might be.

Now hop on over to Passionately Artistic to see what else the Design Team has created for your viewing pleasure! :)

This also qualifies for Kim's challenge at Off the Wall Craftiness:
The balloon swatch is a little more yellow so I changed that to gold. I hope that's okay! :)

Present Shape Card

I couldn't help but play with this kit some more! I love it! Wouldn't this line make the sweetest wall banner for a little girl's room?

Anyway, I designed this on my Gypsy™ in London while we were on vacation there. I looked up the papers and thought it would make a cute present shape card.

I used the polka dotted flocked transparency, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist™ and Stickles™ - all came with the kit. For the glimmer mist, I simply sprayed it on a paper towel and used it to "ink" the edges of the accordion cut and tag cut.

Recipe:
Artful Delight November Kit
Cartridges: Sweethearts™ and Tie the Knot™ (tag)
Button: Paper Trey Ink™
Twine: Paper Trey Ink™
Adhesive: Glue Arts Extreme Adhesive Squares™ and Martha Stewart Gel Adhesive™
Sentiment: Hero Arts™
Embossing Powder: A la Mode - white™
Heating Tool: Coloriser by EK Success™

Instructions:

  1. Weld two short presents together from Sweethearts (there is a tall present version as well).
  2. Create another front of present. Cut out of flocked transparency.
  3. Use layer of bow and cut out of desired paper.
  4. Adhere flocked transparency layer to front of card.
  5. Use Stickles where lines of box and bow would be. Let dry.
  6. Adhere bow to box.
  7. Cut one 1.75" circle tag from Tie the Knot™.
  8. Ink edges using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist™ that has been sprayed on a paper towel.
  9. Cut one 1.25" blank monogram feature from Tie the Knot™ (found on the lips page).
  10. Stamp sentiment onto blank monogram feature scalloped circle, and heat emboss with white embossing powder.
  11. Cut a .75"x8" strip of paper and score every .25". Bend into accordion shape and put one Extreme Adhesive Square™ at the end of it to hold the two ends of the paper together. (I LOVE those squares!)
  12. Use two more Extreme Adhesive Squares to adhere accordion shape to tag.
  13. Use hot glue to adhere sentiment stamped scallop circle to accordion.
  14. Tie a bow with the twine through the button after looping it around the tag.
  15. Adhere button and twine to card using hot glue.
  16. Put it on the top of a present or attach it to a gift bag and give it to someone special! :)

This picture is just to show you the flocked transparency. Those purple polka dots are flocking on the clear transparency. How cool is that? So my present is actually shiny in real life.

Enjoy your day today and I hope it is fabulous! :)

This card also qualifies for Jenny at Wee Memories' Birthday Bash Challenge where Artful Delight is a sponsor this week!!! Head on over and play! Happy Blog Birthday Jenny!!!
