MCT Blog Hop

You should have gotten here from Cindy's blog. If not, start HERE at My Creative Time!

Welcome, welcome!!!

Last time the release sold out SO quickly!!! Make sure to snatch this one up because with all the excitement it is bound to sell out as quickly if not quicker!

Designer's Note:
  1. The lid is ACTUALLY fabric! I used a product called Phoomph that I picked up at CHA. It's basically a sheet of foam dimensional but designed for fabric so you peel of one side and stick fabric down and then the other side and put fabric down and then run it through the die cut machine. I was SUPER surprised that it actually showed the stitching lines! How cool is that! It didn't quite cut all the way through as the foam was too thick for the depth of the die, but it was SO easy to cut around what was left. Give it a try! It added a nice texture to the card!
  2. The card was too plain so I decided to add some decorative stitching. In retrospect, I wish I would have done it in white or off white, but oh well! :)
  3. Real button? Nope! Paper button! I cut it with the new Stitched Button Die release! Too cute, right? And it perfectly matches the card as I cut it out of the background layer paper.
  4. I inked the edges in two inks - a lighter brown chalk ink and that wasn't quite enough... so I did it again in a dark brown ink to edge it. It's one way to get vellum to "pop" against a white background.

I like the black stitching...red or blue would be good too but then I would take forever making up my mind and that is how I work :( I like it. Very attractive card...the yellow is perfect and grabs your eye to have a look. Try to imagine red green or blue...not as good??
